The Marsala Vergine Baglio of the Sicilian Cantine Florio is a fortified wine of the highest level produced from vineyards cultivated in the Marsala DOC area. Made from the vinification of 100% Grillo grapes, this fortified wine is the perfect synthesis of the typicality of a territory. Produced for the first time in 1979, it has an important longevity, it is therefore exceptional if left to mature in the cellar for several years. On the strength of prominent awards, including the 4 Bibenda bunches, the Marsala Vergine Baglio is made only in the best vintages. After the harvest we proceed to the crushing, following which the grapes remain in contact with the skins for about 12 hours, then a strong pressing takes place followed by a long fermentation. At this point, according to the traditional Marsala Vergine recipe, the wine distillate is added. This wine is aged for 10 years in fine oak, then bottled and aged in glass for another year. The result is an enveloping and intense label.
