The story of Grange and its legendary winemaker Max Schubert is a modern fairy tale, a challenge over time. It begins with a trip to Bordeaux in 1949, where the idea of a wine "capable of remaining alive for a minimum of twenty years" first entered Schubert's mind. His first experimental vintage in 1951 initiated a new way of thinking about wines in Australia that would eventually lead to a signature wine style. After careful harvesting, the vinification takes place in steel and the refinement of 20 months in 100% new American oak barrels.
