Mezcal Joven is a distillate made by the Lágrimas de Dolores company, owned by the Guterriez family, a real Mexican institution. This mezcal is obtained from the exclusive distillation of agave durangensis, a plant that grows spontaneously and with considerable diffusion in the state of Durango (Mexico). The production fully respects the dictates of tradition: after cooking, the agave is stone-ground and the juice obtained from it is fermented inside large wooden containers for a maximum period of 72 hours. Mezcal Joven is best expressed when it is tasted on its own, without the addition of water or ice, or it is, at the same time, a phenomenal base for making unusual cocktails.
