Whisky Blended Malt Yushan Nantou Distillery 70 Cl Astucciato

A fascinating malt whiskey from an "anomalous" region in the panorama of world production, namely Taiwan. The whiskey is named after Yushan, the highest mountain in Taiwan. The mountain is known for its beauty and is also called Monte Giada. This spirit is produced at Nantou Distillery, the state distillery on the island, also famous for producing Omar Single Malt. This particular whiskey has been aged in ex bourbon casks and ex sherry casks. The maturation process has given the distillate a soft and supple nature, with sweet notes of bright cereals, toffee, dried fruit, pineapple and mango and a rich clear honey flavour. The balance is perfect. An excellent whiskey and a testament to the growing maturity of the Taiwanese whiskey scene.
