Carignano

This vine is also native to Sardinia and, like Vermentino , probably has distant Spanish origins, coinciding with the long Aragonese domination. In southern France it is called Carignan and is widespread. In cycling terms, many define it as an excellent gregarious, that is perfect paired with other grapes, for example Cannonau . Its thick colour, strong alcohol content and important structure therefore make it an excellent blending wine. Instead we must say that the recent agronomic innovations in the vineyard, and oenological innovations in the cellar, have allowed Carignano to express itself in absolute autonomy and great dignity; this is confirmed and ascertained with the dedicated denomination Carignano del Sulcis doc which provides for a minimum use of 85% of the vine. This excellent Sardinian wine has an intense ruby color with garnet hues and a remarkable complexity and aromatic variety. Over time and with aging, the herbaceous scents of this red tend to take on more decisive and spicy nuances. When tasted, Carignano offers well-structured and warm wines, endowed with mild acidity and good sapidity, with pleasant roundness and persistence.

The Carignano grape is native and is present above all in Sardinia; it is a black grape variety and entered the National Catalog of vine varieties as early as 1970. The resulting wine has a ruby red color with a flavor on the palate that ranges from fruity to herbal, and is warm and persistent.
