Antinori explores new wine areas and chooses Chile as a bulwark for quality production in the New World. Sauvignon Blanc, a vine of French origin, is a variety of great personality: we know that it reaches its full expression only in a few selected areas of the world, including traditionally considered the Loire valley in France, New Zealand and Friuli Venezia Giulia . And, more recently, in Chile, especially in the coastal area of Leyda. In this case, the name Albaclara was inspired by the marvelous auroras that rise over the vineyards of this area of the estate. The wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc and the harvest is done by hand in the vineyards, right in the Leyda area. As regards the vinification, the bunches of grapes, upon arrival in the cellars, are de-stemmed and subjected to soft pressing. The fermentation, which lasts from twelve to fifteen days, is carried out in 1,200-1,500 liter oak barrels and at low temperatures to maintain the freshness of the grapes. The wine then aged on its fine lees, which were gently stirred every two weeks. Albaclara, in the glass, offers a bright light yellow color. The nose is intense and shows a lively and pleasant vibration together with notes of citrus and herbs and an excellent freshness created by the influence of the coastal area. On the palate it is persistent with notes of mint and citrus supported by a lot of flavor and freshness. To try!
