Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOC Binomio is a label signed by the La Valentina winery in collaboration with Inama Azienda Agricola of Verona; thus the Binomio wine was born. Following the acquisition of some old and precious vineyards of Montepulciano, this unusual project for the Italian wine scene has started. The goal is clear: to create a particularly ambitious wine, which could fully show off its ripe tannins, but which is ready to drink and not too demanding. A monovarietal that allows one of the most representative grape varieties of the Italian ampelographic spectrum to fully express itself. Fermentation takes place in vertical vats with classic maceration on the skins. The wine rests for 15 months in new and second passage barriques before being bottled. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Binomio" is an intense and structured wine, which expresses all the richness, power and aromatic persistence of the great Abruzzo grape variety. It is an evolved and complex version of Montepulciano, which is aged for a long period of time in barriques. The use of wood helps to tame the youthful vehemence of the vine and to make its tannins softer and more pleasant, giving the wine a more harmonious and balanced face. Thanks to these characteristics, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOC Binomio can be forgotten in the cellar even for ten years, a period in which the tannin will lose roughness to become softer and smoother. Perfect for a dinner based on particularly structured dishes, to which it can be an excellent counterpart.
