'DJJ Merlot Riserva' Alto Adige DOC 2021 Winery Niklas

In Località Prutznai, 300 m above sea level, the Niklas winery has extraordinary Merlot vineyards, over 30 years old. The conditions and the terroir are excellent. The harvest is manual, 24 days of fermentation in open steel vats with frequent movements of the must. Malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels and subsequent aging in barriques for 18 months. Colour: intense ruby red. Smell: elaborate notes of ripe fruit and blackberry caressed by light woody scents. Taste: full-bodied, with a strong tannic structure. A tribute to an extraordinary territory, a wine born of gratitude and dedicated to the winemakers Josef and Johanna Sölva who in 2011 passed the baton to their son Dieter Sölva. A charismatic and refined wine.
