Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

Description

Falerno del Massico Rosso DOP is a great red wine proposed by the well-known Campania winery Fattoria Villa Matilde, famous for having been able to perfectly combine the quality of its products with respect for the environment, the local winemaking tradition and innovation. It is the merit of this productive reality to have given new life to the ancient Falerno and to have paid particular attention to the native vines. This label, which honors the wine praised by Virgilio, comes from a blend made up of Aglianico (80%) and Piedirosso (20%), the fruit of vineyards grown on soil of volcanic origin and belonging to the San Castrese Estate, in the province of Caserta. The Falerno del Massico Rosso DOP comes only from carefully selected grapes during the harvest. After the harvest carried out in the third ten days of October, the bunches are taken to the cellar, where they follow a process of destemming and crushing, then the marc macerates for a long time. Subsequently, a part of the wine ages in Allier barriques, while the other in Slavonian oak barrels. The refinement lasts from 10 to 12 months, depending on the vintage. This is followed by bottling and a further period of maturation in glass. The result is a product that has a commendable aging capacity. A red with a full, harmonious, soft, elegant and persistent sip.
