'Gevrey Chambertin' AOC Chanson Pere ' Fils 2018

Chanson Pere & Fils Gevrey Chambertin wine is one of the flagship wines of the Chanson Pere & Fils estate of the same name and fully represents the territory in which it is produced, the Côte de Nuits, in the Burgundy region, which has always had a very high wine vocation and reign of the most important French fashion houses. The company owns 45 hectares, most of which fall within the Premier Cru and Gran Cru area and, moreover, the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards are located in this area, giving life to high quality red wines . All thanks to the terroir of this part of Burgundy which, although it can vary even between areas of the same slope, is basically characterized by soils based on limestone and marl which are often accompanied by sand and gravel, excellent for vineyards. The Gevrey Chambertin vineyard, from which the Chanson Pere & Fils Gevrey Chambertin originates, is located on the slopes of a hill on the edge of the Premier Cru area; it is produced in purity from Pinot Noir which is harvested with traditional methods and aged in oak barrels for 16 months. Long and careful macerations have made it possible to improve the fleshy texture and the soft and elegant tannins of this Pinot Noir. It is a well structured and well balanced wine. It has a nice texture, complex and subtly spiced aromas. The aftertaste is persistent, leaving a fresh and dry palate. Fulfilling.
