The Montessu Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso IGT Agripunica is one of the flagship wines of this company, born from the merger of several wineries and led for a long time by the legendary winemaker Giacomo Tachis, one of the most important winemakers of our country, who recently passed away. The decision to focus on Sardinia dates back to 2002, in particular on the Sulcis area, in the south of the island. And it was a bet that won; Sardinian wines are getting more and more recognition, both nationally and internationally. The Montessu Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso from the Agripunica cellars is a red wine classified as IGT, Isola dei Nuraghi Typical Geographical Indication. This elegant blend is the result of the union of native grapes (60%) and grapes of French origin (40%), grown in Lower Sulcis with its clayey, sandy and calcareous soils and harvested during the last weeks of September and the first days of October. The maturation of Montessu has a duration of 15 months and takes place in fine French oak barriques. The result is a full, elegant and fruity red wine, with the right tannins, very intense and persistent, with excellent longevity. Ideal for a dinner with friends with important meat dishes.
