The Rosso Mediterraneo wine of the Tenuta delle Ripalte winery fully reflects the characteristics of its name. In fact, the vines are located along the coasts of the island of Elba, where the particular structure of the soil, rich in mineral salts, and the arid and dry climate, allow for perfectly ripened grapes to be obtained. To produce this wine, a skilful blend of Alicante grapes is made, also known as Cannonau for 85% and Carignano grapes for the remaining 15%. The production technique of Rosso Mediterraneo wine requires first of all a meticulous selection of the grapes, carried out by hand during the harvest, in order to prefer only the ripe ones. After a soft pressing, the fermentation takes place and the subsequent maturation takes place in large wooden barrels for a period of at least 24 months before moving on to bottling. The result is a full, complex, intense and balanced wine which is characterized by a good structure and harmony. Great longevity in the medium term.
