It is the perfect boblet for red wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is made possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored.

Description

The Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella Riserva from the Rainoldi winery is a red wine produced from the grapes of the vineyards planted at a height ranging from 270 meters to 600 meters above sea level, in the territory of the municipality of Castione Andevenno and that of Sondrio, where the soil is particularly rich in iron rock. This wine from the Rainoldi winery is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, the fruit of approximately 30-year-old vines which, with the highest respect for the winemaking tradition of the Valtellina sub-area of Sassella, are cultivated on terraces. The hand-picked harvest, after careful selection of the grapes, is followed by crushing, then the must undergoes fermentation at a controlled temperature, accompanied by daily pumping over and punching down; after which the wine, for a period of no less than 24 months, follows the aging process in oak barriques. After the indicated time, the Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella Riserva is bottled and, before being placed on the market, it remains to refine in the bottle for another year. The result is a red with a delicate fragrance and a strong personality.
