Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

The red wine Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso Turriga from the Argiolas winery is the flagship product of the Sardinian winery. The vineyards are located in the heart of the province of Cagliari, on calcareous soils full of stones and pebbles. This winery represents the reference point of the Sardinian winemaking tradition, with a quality production based on tradition and innovation. Created in 1988 by the famous Giacomo Tachis - one of the protagonists of the Italian enological renaissance in the Sixties, who a few years earlier had been invited by the Cantina Sociale di Santadi to make Terre Brune and who at the beginning of the new millennium gave another pearl to this land, the Barrua - is a skilful blend of some of the main Sardinian red grape varieties, variable in percentages depending on the vintage, and a small addition of black Malvasia. The production of Turriga starts with the manual harvest which takes place between October and November. A separate vinification for the different grapes and a temperature-controlled fermentation follows immediately afterwards. This is followed by maturation in French oak barriques for 18-24 months and then a long refinement in the bottle. When tasted, Turriga immediately reveals itself as a wine of great finesse, with noble aromas: the body is agile, structured, but without excesses and therefore not heavy. Turriga is a wine where the softness conferred by alcohol and polyalcohols is well balanced with the hardness of freshness and sapidity, capable of guaranteeing it a long life if well kept in the cellar, and tannins, present but very pleasant.
