Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

The red wine Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 years of the Caprai winery is produced using only Sagrantino grapes. The hills of Montefalco, a small town in the province of Perugia, welcome the vineyards that supply delicious grapes, thanks to the particular combination of excellent climatic conditions and soil rich in mineral salts. This winery has been operating in the area for several years and has become a point of reference in the Umbrian wine sector thanks to the production of high quality wines. Arnaldo Caprai was the first promoter and supporter of Sagrantino di Montefalco, some tens of years ago, and still today he represents excellence in the production of this wine. First of all, for the production, we start from a selection of the bunches during the harvest, which begins in late October. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in French oak barriques and at least 8 months in the bottle. Sagrantino is a very tannic grape and needs a long passage in wood and a lot of time to be able to soften and smooth out, which succeeds perfectly in this red with a great structure, full-bodied, but balanced. The olfactory complexity is surprising, but above all it is a soft, persuasive wine that never ends, with a lot of final persistence. Inviting is also the freshness that makes it elegant and composed is the tannin, present but never invasive. Great wine that can be left in the cellar for years.
