It is the perfect goblet for white wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile and this is possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

Description

The Von Othegraven 0317 Altenberg Riesling Kabinett white wine from the Von Othegraven winery is obtained using exclusively fine Riesling grapes. The vineyards are able to supply excellent quality grapes thanks to a perfect union between the soils rich in mineral salts and therefore particularly fertile and the very favorable microclimatic conditions, also thanks to the temperature variations between day and night. The cellar is a point of reference in the production of exclusive wines that perfectly enhance the territory. The production of the Von Othegraven 0317 Altenberg Riesling Kabinett wine follows a precise disciplinary. The harvest begins only when the grapes have reached the right ripeness and is done by hand to select the best bunches. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature with a short period in contact with the lees. The subsequent maturation involves a passage of aging in barrels and then final refinement in the bottle. Wine of great thickness and elegance: the minerality of slate, with notes of spices, meets notes of herbs and citrus fruits. Complex, it displays a floral finesse reminiscent of rose petals. Very subtle in fragrance, the variety of aromas continues impressively on the palate. We taste yellow fruit and this is reflected in the typical slate flavor of the soil. The wine shows a wonderful freshness, on the palate it shows a nice sweet-acid and well-structured game. Already ready today, it shows considerable aging potential.
