Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG "Vigneto Monte Sant'Urbano" is a refined red from the Speri winery, one of the most important wineries in the Veneto region. The farm is located in a hilly area surrounded by mountains, where the climate and the type of soil have been completely suitable for the cultivation of vines since time immemorial. The Sant'Urbano vineyard is located right in the center of this territory, a place of rare beauty where vines, olive trees and cherry trees seem to find an ideal habitat among the sinuous curves of the hills in the municipality of Fumane. For this extraordinary wine, the classic autochthonous Corvina Veronese and Rondinella grapes are used, with a small addition of Molinara. After a selection of the best bunches from the prestigious vineyard, the grapes are dried for about 4 months, arranged on the traditional "arele" (racks); in this way approximately 40% of water and humidity are lost, with a consequent concentration of sugars, substances and tannins. This is the fundamental basis for the construction of a wine of remarkable structure and softness, such as Amarone "Vigneto Monte Sant'Urbano", characterized by expressive complexity and indisputable longevity. The wine is subsequently aged for a very long time, i.e. 36 months in wooden barrels; this indispensable step gives the wine harmony and balance. Once these manufacturing processes have been completed, the red is left to rest in the cellar for a further 5 years: this phase contributes to the overall refinement of the product. It thus appears in the glass with an intense ruby red, with reflections tending towards garnet, an intense and elegant aroma, with notes of sour cherry jam, dried rose and cinnamon. On the palate we find it soft and elegant, with important tannins; warm and very persistent on the finish. Excellent with important pairings of red meat.
