Recommended glass

Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

Description

Among the many quality wines produced by the Letrari winery, the Ballistarius Vigneti delle Dolomiti PGI is perhaps the most representative of the Trentino area and the province of Rovereto, in particular. Here, in fact, are the 23 hectares of the estate, located in various areas of the Vallagarina, where the Mediterranean-type microclimate, linked to the presence of the Adige and Ora rivers, and the particular terroir contribute to making the grapes rich in flavor and with right balance between sugars and acidity. The term "Dolomites Vineyards" indicates a typical geographical area which includes a vast territory in the provinces of Bolzano, Trento and Belluno. The Ballistarius Vigneti delle Dolomiti PGI comes from the assembly of various vines, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Lagrein, combining the classic Bordeaux blend with the Trentino vocation. Fermentation and aging in 1st passage French barriques; aging in bottle for at least 8 months. Together they give life to a great red, with a strong garnet color, complex in aromas, immediately showing decisive characters, in which vegetal notes and hints attributable to dark plum jam are recognized; a spicy note of pepper is added and an evident finish of wood and licorice. In the mouth it immediately reveals its structural dimension with an expressive, pleasant tannin that imposes itself with decision and importance on the soft, full-bodied and full-bodied notes. Great wine!
