Mediterranean wine par excellence, the Etna Rosso Barbazzale from the Cottanera winery is a red wine that comes from vineyards located on the slopes of Etna at an altitude of about 700 meters, on the estate located within the Contrada Cottanera, in the municipality of Castiglione of Sicily. This wine is a blend of two native vines, with 80% Nerello Mascalese grapes and 20% Nerello Cappuccio. The cellar is also highly appreciated nationally and with a production based on local vineyards. The vines that supply the grapes for the production of this red are around 15 years old. The harvest is done by hand and then the grapes are destemmed and left to macerate for a period of 20 to 25 days on the skins, with fermentation in steel containers. Maturation, which lasts about five months, always takes place in steel. Energetic and vibrant and with qualities of great freshness, Etna Rosso Barbazzale is a ready-to-drink wine, thanks also to its dynamism, but also very valid for aging in the cellar for at least 2 - 3 years.
