It is the perfect boblet for red wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is made possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 2-3 years.

Description
Barbera d'Alba DOC Vigna Pugnane is a red wine produced by the Piedmontese winery Mario Marengo . It is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Barbera grapes, a local variety appreciated for its vigor and characteristic aromas. The plots that give the wine its name are located near Castiglione Falletto. Here the clayey substrates rich in silt and limestone and the south-east sun exposure guarantee the ideal conditions for the luxuriant growth of the vine up to the time of the harvest with manual sorting. In the cellar, the vinification begins with alcoholic fermentation with maceration, which takes place in steel tanks for 6 days at a strictly monitored temperature. The subsequent refinement involves a rest of 10 months in French barriques, of which 15% on the first passage, and a stay of 4 months in the bottle before being put on the market. Barbera d'Alba DOC Vigna Pugnane can be satisfactorily enjoyed immediately, as well as following further evolution in the cellar for 4-5 years.
