Vinopuro's advices
Recommended glass

Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

In South Africa, under the Simonsberg Mountain the Rupert & Rothschild winery, born in 1997 from the cooperation between the Rothschild winery and the Rupert family, produces the Baron Edmond Western Cape wine. This comes from red berries of the Merlot vines for 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon for 45% and Cabernet Franc for the remaining 5%; all the plants are irrigated with a drip system and are between 11 and 26 years old. The Baron Edmond Western Cape wine is produced by fermenting the grapes for about 20 days followed by an aging of a further 18 months in oak barrels. The Baron Edmond Western Cape is a medium-bodied and extremely harmonious wine; it is absolutely indicated to be used during the second part of a formal dinner; to enjoy it in its best vigor and to savor all the characteristics and potential it can express, it is advisable to open the Baron Edmond Western Cape at least after ten years of further aging in its cellar, after having it oxygenated inside a decanter for at least 4 or 5 hours.
