Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

From the vineyards of southern Sulcis, in the province of Carbonia-Iglesias, in Sardinia, comes a great wine, Barrua "Isola dei Nuraghi IGT Agripunica 2014". The prestigious Agripunica company is actually a mixed company, born from the collaboration between the oenologist Sebastiano Rosa of Tenuta San Guido, the president of the Tenuta Santadi Antonello Pilloni and the famous oenologist Giacomo Tachis, of international renown. The cellar extends over 65 hectares of land characterized by fertile soil, basically sandy, calcareous and clayey, made so by the subtropical climate, with little rain and mild temperatures. The extraordinary quality of the grapes allows the Barrua "Isola dei Nuraghi IGT Agripunica 2014" to stand out for its structure, intense color and softness, obtained from the perfect balance between tannins and acidity. The wine, made up of 85% native grapes (mainly Carignano) and 15% French varieties (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon), is left to ferment in steel for about two weeks and matured in French oak barrels for 18 months . On the nose the olfactory power of Barrua is accompanied by the complexity and finesse of the bouquet, in the mouth it triumphs for softness, counterbalanced by a very fine tannins, a good freshness and flavor. Warm, intense and harmonious, it fully confirms the olfactory impact, with aromas that are amplifying over time. Barrua is a great red, together with Turriga and Terre Brune, other creatures of Tachis, therefore to be considered among the greatest wines of the island for finesse, balance, harmony and persistence: in addition to being a real meditation wine , especially when you have had the foresight to let it rest in the cellar, literally forgetting it for years, it is a wine that knows how to find its ideal pairing with the great meat dishes of the Italian and French culinary tradition.
