Cannonau of Sardinia DOC Giovanni Maria Cherchi 2020

The Cannonau di Sardegna DOC is an excellent red wine produced by the Giovanni Maria Cherchi winery in Sassari, known for having been an incisive reality in the rebirth of quality Sardinian viticulture, focused above all on the cultivation of native vines. This special still red is the result of the vinification of 100% Cannonau grapes, the fruit of vines grown in hilly terrain affected by climatic conditions characterized by an omnipresent sea breeze and intense temperature variations. The Cannonau di Sardegna DOC takes shape from a harvest carried out in the third ten days of September. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are transported to the cellar where they undergo a process of destemming and crushing, followed by a spontaneous fermentation on the skins. Subsequently, the wine ages for about 6 months, partly in steel and partly in wood, before being bottled. The final product is a Cannonau characterized by unique organoleptic nuances. A dry red wine, with a warm and savory sip, for a balanced label that stands out for its great structure, its good persistence and its interesting aging capacity.
