The Chardonnay San Michele Appiano from the prestigious South Tyrolean winery Sankt Michael Eppan / San Michele Appiano is an excellent white wine, vinified for the first time in 1982, with 100% Chardonnay grapes. This label is the fruit of vines that are between 5 and 30 years old. The vineyards, from which the grapes are harvested, are cultivated in the countryside of Appiano and Caldaro, in an area with the Alto Adige/Südtirol DOC denomination. A thick label, which takes shape from grapes carefully selected by hand and harvested in September. An alcoholic fermentation follows and a partial malolactic fermentation, again in steel, after which the Chardonnay San Michele Appiano is aged for a few months in the same containers. The result is a wine that has a potential aging of a couple of years, an intense and aromatic white, for a medium-structured label, with good persistence and a smooth, agile and fresh sip. A well-balanced Chardonnay that is truly a pleasant discovery. To buy.
