Chardonnay Riserva 'Vigna Castel Ringberg' Alto Adige DOC Walch Elena 2020

The white wine Vigna Castel Ringberg Alto Adige DOC Chardonnay Riserva by Elena Walch is an elegant and highly refined product. It is made using exclusively Chardonnay grapes grown on vines found in the Castel Ringberg vineyard located in the municipality of Termeno, in the province of Bolzano. Traditional production techniques combined with modern technologies make it possible to obtain a white wine that is inimitable at times. The grapes are harvested and selected rigorously by hand and immediately subjected to a soft pressing, with static decantation of the must. Fermentation takes place in French Allier wooden barrels. At the end of fermentation, the wine is left on its lees (sur lie) and subjected to battonage weekly for a good 3 months. The wine ages for 10 months in the Barrique on its lees. The Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Castel Ringberg shows notes of bright golden yellow. Its complex bouquet ranges from exotic fruits, including papaya, toasted almonds and a hint of dandelion honey and light roasting. When tasted it convinces with its interplay of strength, freshness and elegant structure, emphasizing its mineral vein and highlighting its creamy freshness and flavor. The finish is long and fresh, a truly surprising wine.
