Chardonnay Salento IGP Vecchia Torre 2022

Chardonnay IGP Salento is one of the white wines of Vecchia Torre. This winery brings together the major winemakers of Leverano, a small town in the province of Lecce, in a cooperative. The mild Apulian climate and the medium-textured soil, with the presence of limestone, constitute the ideal habitat for the cultivation of various grape varieties. The white in question is produced from 100% Chardonnay vines, harvested at the end of August. The harvested grapes are de-stemmed and subsequently subjected to soft pressing. The must thus obtained undergoes a cooling process, so that it decants naturally. The wine is then transferred to stainless steel tanks, where it remains to ferment (at a controlled temperature) on carefully selected yeasts, before being definitively bottled. Chardonnay IGP Salento is a white wine for which we recommend a quick drink. Only by tasting it at a very young age is it possible to appreciate its distinctly aromatic, soft and elegant character.
