'Contrada Cavaliere' Etna Rosso DOC Benanti 2019

Elegant and fragrant wine, Contrada Cavaliere Etna Rosso DOC is the perfect example of the productive creed of Benanti , one of the most interesting realities on the Sicilian wine scene. This wine comes from rigorous work that is carried out, first in the vineyard and then in the cellar, as well as from the skilful cultivation and vinification in purity of grapes of the native vine, the Nerello Mascalese, which achieves excellent results on the slopes of Etna. The vineyards, located at about 900 meters above sea level in the Contrada Cavaliere, have the classic sapling cultivation, used to obtain only the best from vines over fifty years of age. Following a manual harvest, aimed at selecting the ripest bunches, the fermentation in steel and the aging in oak barrels give the Contrada Cavaliere Etna Rosso DOC a refined character. Thanks to the passage in wood, which smooths out the edges, this red expresses its best immediately, but it can also rest for a few years in the cellar.
