'Derthona' Grappa of Timorasso Vigneti Massa 2009 50 cl. Casey

Derthona Grappa di Timorasso is a pomace distillate made by the Piedmontese winery Vigneti Massa as part of a close collaboration with the Venetian Capovilla distillery. With the aim of setting up a sustainable process, the pomace of Timorasso grapes previously used for the homonymous wine is kept aside. The grapes are grown in the province of Tortona, an area that has rediscovered this vine only a few years ago, thanks to Walter Massa. The climatic conditions and soils are ideal for allowing the vines to produce grapes with an unmistakable aromatic profile. Thanks to the innovative production methods adopted by the cellar, the distillation allows to extract all the varietal aromas from the pomace. The subsequent refinement phase makes it possible to make the aromas even more structured, allowing this white grappa to enhance the peculiarities of the Tortona area. Derthona Grappa di Timorasso is an ideal distillate to conclude a meal and can be appreciated even after a decade of careful conservation.
