Vinopuro's advices
Recommended glass
Glass
Medium Open Goblet
Glass
It is the perfect goblet for light and medium-structured white wines; these wines do not require prolonged contact with oxygen to best enhance their bouquet. Indeed, a slightly narrower opening of the glass is recommended: this helps the concentration and the direction of the aromas towards the nose. In this way, the perception of the aromas is increased, enhancing the sensations.

Description

In Sicily, and precisely in Viagrande, in the province of Catania, the Benanti winery has been producing excellent wines since the end of the 19th century; we are in a unique environment in the world, where the environmental conditions, however apparently strange, strongly contribute to characterize the wines produced: we are in a mountain location, on the slopes of Etna, with an altitude between 800 and 1000 meters above sea level: this involves a considerable temperature range between the day temperature (peak sun and temperatures around 30°) and that of the night, where it easily reaches around 12° in summer. The soil of volcanic origin and the proximity as the crow flies to the currents coming from the sea make one of the main characteristics of Etna wines: their high minerality. Etna Bianco Benanti 2016 is a DOC white wine and for its production the Carricante vine is used, typical of the area and highly valued by the company; with a rich and intense taste, with a small and pleasant hint of acidity (given by the soil) which makes it perfect in combination with very tasty if not spicy dishes, with ethnic and oriental dishes and all fish-based dishes.
