Etna Bianco DOC Planeta 2020

The Etna Bianco from the Planeta winery is one of the most recent successful experiments of the most important Sicilian winery. Etna Bianco is produced in the Feudo di Mezzo cellar, which is located right in the heart of Etna viticulture. It is obtained from Carricante grapes vinified exclusively in purity, which are partially fermented inside oak barriques. The intention behind this production process is to seek an authentic and at the same time modern expression of a noble vine such as Carricante, which enjoys the benefits of the unique terroir of the Etna area. The wine is harvested around the first week of October: once collected in crates, the grapes are immediately refrigerated at a temperature of 8 degrees and subsequently selected by hand to be sent to the destemming process and consequent soft pressing. Subsequently the must ferments in steel and 15% in oak: this is why this white wine boasts an aging capacity of between five and seven years.
