The Falerno del Massico Rosso DOC is an exceptional red wine produced by the renowned Campania farm Fattoria Villa Matilde, an important wine-growing reality that for more than a century has offered only and exclusively quality wines that well enhance the Campania area and, more specifically, the one included in the area of Sannio in Benevento, in the upper Caserta area and in Irpinia. This label comes from a blend composed of Aglianico (80%) and Piedirosso (20%), the fruit of vines grown in hilly soil of volcanic origin with a good presence of microelements, phosphorus and potassium. Sung in Virgil's Georgics, this red takes shape from a careful selection of grapes from the vineyards of the San Castrese estate. After harvesting, the bunches are transported to the cellar, where they are first destemmed and then subjected to a long maceration. Subsequently, for a variable period of 10-12 months, a part of the wine ages in Allier barriques, while the other in Slavonian oak barrels, after which the two products are assembled, then the Falerno del Massico Rosso DOC ages still glass. The result is a label with excellent longevity. A harmonious, elegant red with a full sip, which emerges for its exceptional persistence.
