Recommended glass
Glass
Ballon flute
Glass
It is the perfect goblet for classic method sparkling wines (or champenoise) and champagne: being narrow, with a pointed bottom, it favors the development of bubbles (perlage), avoiding their dispersion; the body of this glass is a little wider than a classic flute and favors the perception of more intense and complex aromas.

Description

Franciacorta Brut Docg Contadi Castaldi is an elegant sparkling wine with a great fragrance, a sincere expression of the best production of Franciacorta. The Contadi Castaldi winery is a historic company in the area, which boasts centuries-old origins, even if the actual winery only started its production in the 90s. This sparkling wine is obtained from a cuvée of three grape varieties, in which 80% Chardonnay predominates, combined with smaller components of Pinot Noir (10%) and Pinot Blanc (10%). All three vines are grown on the land owned by the company, in the heart of Franciacorta, with optimal characteristics for the ripening of the grapes. After the harvest, done by hand between the end of August and mid-September, the grapes are taken to the cellar where the vinification process takes place. It begins with a soft pressing of the berries, to then move on to a fermentation of the must partly in steel and partly in barrique. This is followed by a period of aging on the lees of 20 - 26 months. In this last phase, a little longer than usual, the sparkling wine takes on its complexity and personality. The result is a fresh and rich sparkling wine, fragrant and balanced, but never predictable.
