'Gaun' Chardonnay Alto Adige/Sudtirol DOC Alois Lageder 2021

Gaun Chardonnay Alto Adige/Sudtirol DOC is an elegant and fragrant white wine made by the Alois Lageder winery, a historical reality particularly representative of the territory. The label is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Chardonnay grapes, whose vineyards are located in Magrè, about 250 meters above sea level. Here the soil boasts a significant presence of sandstone, gravel and limestone components, which contribute to giving the grapes a unique sensory profile. With both organic and biodynamic cultivation regimes, the grape is expressed in all its most authentic nuances. To preserve its freshness, the vinification involves a very soft pressing of the grapes, which is followed by a spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel. The subsequent refinement lasts for about nine months on the lees, inside steel containers and oak barrels. This skilful mix allows the Gaun Chardonnay Alto Adige/Sudtirol DOC to acquire softness and maintain excellent minerality and ease of drinking.
