Irpinia Aglianico DOC is an intense and structured red wine, made by the Mastroberardino winery from Campania. It is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Aglianico grapes, a representative variety of the Irpinia area. The plots facing south-east rise about 400 meters above sea level. Here the vines sink their roots into soils rich in clay, which give the plants the correct nourishment. The harvest is scheduled between October and November with manual selection of the best bunches. Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes are left to ferment for two weeks in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine ages in wooden barrels for about 10 months, and then rests for another 6 months in the bottle. Excellent immediately, Irpinia Aglianico DOC can evolve further if carefully stored in the cellar for up to 5-6 years.
