Description
The Kaltersee Classico Superiore Quintessenz Cantina di Caldaro is a red wine produced from Schiava grapes, cultivated with pergola training in the surroundings of Lake Caldaro by the homonymous cooperative winery founded in these lands more than a century ago. The area surrounding this tourist lake is the most famous in South Tyrol for the production of wine and also one of the largest with its 750 cultivated hectares. This vineyard, in particular, is located in Sankt Josef, in a hilly area whose height varies from 230 to 450 meters above sea level. These soils are characterized by exposure to the south and east, with a calcareous and clayey composition. The proximity to the lake means that the crops enjoy a mild microclimate; the processing takes place almost completely by hand and following the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, it is therefore a type of sustainable agriculture that respects tradition, the so-called biodynamic agriculture. The Kaltersee Classico Superiore Quintessenz Cantina di Caldaro is a wine classified DOC, Denomination of Controlled Origin. It is a brilliant red wine, aged for 4 months and perfect to be savored on a cool evening accompanied, why not, by typical Alto Adige products.
