Vinopuro's advices
Recommended glass
Glass
Medium Open Goblet
Glass
It is the perfect goblet for light and medium-structured white wines; these wines do not require prolonged contact with oxygen to best enhance their bouquet. Indeed, a slightly narrower opening of the glass is recommended: this helps the concentration and the direction of the aromas towards the nose. In this way, the perception of the aromas is increased, enhancing the sensations.

Description

The Kerner of the Abbazia di Novacella winery is a wine that is produced in Alto Adige, precisely in the areas of Bressanone and Varna. The cellar is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in business, as news of its vineyards is attested as early as the twelfth century. Thanks to its centuries-old history, this winery therefore has the possibility of exploiting knowledge in the cultivation of grapes based on a rich and solid tradition in the wine field. The vine is of German origin and was created in 1929 by August Herold by crossing Schiava Grossa and Riesling. The name Kerner derives from Justinus Kerner, a German doctor and poet (he wrote poems about wine) in whose honor this vine was dedicated. The Kerner grape harvest takes place at the beginning of October and the wine ages in the bottle for three months before being put on the market. The fermentation of these grapes and the subsequent maturation takes place in steel tanks with the aim of preserving the main characteristics, so appreciated. Very pleasant floral and mineral notes, with hints of yellow fruit, involve the senses and introduce a fresh and dynamic sip, with savory aromas on the finish. Intense and persistent, it is an elegant wine that leaves its mark.
