Vinopuro's advices
Recommended glass
Glass
Medium Open Goblet
Glass
It is the perfect glass for light and medium-structured red wines; these wines do not require prolonged contact with oxygen to best enhance their bouquet. Indeed, a slightly narrower opening of the glass is recommended: this helps the concentration and the direction of the aromas towards the nose. In this way, the perception of the aromas is increased, enhancing the sensations.

Description

Kirchegg Merlot-Cabernet Alto Adige DOC is an elegant red wine made by the Hofstatter winery, a highly appreciated production reality of the Dolomites viticulture. The label is mainly obtained from Merlot grapes (80%), to which a percentage equal to 20% of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes is added. These international vines are grown on the estate's own plots, located in the surroundings of Termeno. Here the vines sink their roots into a substrate that contains clay, dolomite and other minerals that give refinement to the grapes. At the end of the manual harvest phase, the grapes are carefully cleaned and subjected to rapid maceration. Fermentation lasts for ten days at a temperature of 28° C. This phase involves continuous contact with the skins, essential for extracting tannins and aromas. Perfect right from the bottling, Kirchegg Merlot-Cabernet Alto Adige DOC boasts the potential to express itself in a fine way after a couple of years of further evolution in the cellar.
