Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

Lagrein Riserva Sanct Valentin Alto Adige DOC is an excellent red wine from the South Tyrolean winery San Michele Appiano , obtained from the single-variety vinification of Lagrein grapes. Located at Maso Wangger, the vineyards are located on soils of alluvial origin with a high percentage of sand. The rows are cultivated with both the pergola and Guyot systems, which allow the benefits to be maximized until the end of September when the grapes are harvested manually. The vinification begins with the alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks and continues with a passage in French oak barriques and tonneaux, where the wine undergoes both malolactic fermentation and a first refinement. After about a year, the lots are blended and the wine rests for another 6 months in large wooden barrels. Lagrein Riserva Sanct Valentin Alto Adige DOC is an important, structured, profound wine that can be appreciated immediately, as well as after 4-5 years of careful storage in the cellar.
