'Late Bottled Vintage' Porto DOC Dow's 2016

The Porto Late Bottled Vintage from the Dow's winery is a fortified wine produced from Portuguese vines grown in the typical Upper Douro Valley. The Dow's winery makes tradition a real banner: the wine is, in fact, still pressed in the traditional lagares, large tanks with low sides, with bare feet. For some years, however, a highly technological crusher has also been used, capable of reproducing the movement of human feet, even with better results. The Late Bottled Vintage Port spends a long period of aging in oak barrels, the average duration of this process varies from 4 to 6 years. It is a perfect product to be sipped after a dinner with friends. It is immediately ready for consumption, intense, deep, complex, sweet, but not too much. The years spent in barrels mean that it can have a great longevity; aging can last even decades.
