A Bodega founded way back in 1877, Williams & Humbert was created by Sir Alexander Williams, who boasted considerable expertise, as well as a strong passion for all the typical wine products of the Jerez area. Together with Williams, in this enterprise, we find Arthur Humbert, who was its commercial soul, thanks above all to his ability to maintain relationships with other nations. Their work was truly excellent and laid the foundation for a success that would last almost one hundred and fifty years. In fact, Williams & Humbert is still one of the most renowned wineries in all of Spain and remains the most important player worldwide for the production of Sherry. This wine with its timeless charm requires extremely laborious production and, despite the fact that it has not enjoyed the favor of the market for many years, it has never lost its standards in terms of quality. Thanks to the renewed interest, Sherry is once again becoming appreciated as a high-quality wine, especially when it comes to Williams & Humbert products which can truly boast an impeccable reputation. All the vineyards that fall within the company property are located in a triangle-shaped strip of land whose vertices are Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlucar de Barrameda and Puerto de Santa Maria. This particularly suitable region benefits greatly from the microclimate, which is extremely favorable for the cultivation of vines. Despite its important traditions, Williams & Humbert certainly does not live on income, rather it is driven by a spirit of continuous renewal. For some years it has been involved in a process of agri-food diversification that boasts a wide scope, especially for the range of very high quality products. Therefore, some of the most innovative projects involve collaboration between multiple nations, for example. This is the case, for example, of Rum Dos Maderas, which is produced and undergoes an initial aging in the Caribbean, to be subsequently transported to Jerez, where the refinement phase ends.
