Camporeale is a small town of around 4000 inhabitants, in the province of Palermo. It is here that the Vaccaro family has been producing wines for more than 50 years. It all started with Giuseppe Vaccaro, a man of great experience and deeply in love with his land. In the 1950s, Giuseppe understood the potential of this splendid territory and decided to start making wine from the grapes from his own estate, especially Catarratto and Nerello Mascalese ; the wines obtained are highly appreciated, especially in the trattorias and restaurants where they are sold. This success encouraged Giuseppe who therefore, in 1963, decided to expand the company and purchase new land and a farmhouse in Contrada Macellarotto . On the highest hill, Giuseppe later built the cellar: it is the area that will give its name to the "Case Alte" company. Giuseppe, with the help of his son Calogero, plants new vineyards of Catarratto , Grillo , Syrah and Nero d'Avola , and recently everything has been converted to organic farming. The current winemaking project involves carrying out the entire production chain in the small universe of the Macellaroto district and aims to maintain a contained dimension, on a human scale, which ensures careful and meticulous control of all phases of the production process, from vineyard until bottling. To date, three generations of the Vaccaro family have led and guided the family business with passion, tenacity and great respect for the environment that welcomes this reality; a magnificent hilly area, characterized by pedoclimatic conditions particularly favorable to the cultivation of vines and which therefore give rise to an extraordinary production of wines with excellent characteristics, highly appreciated by critics and enthusiasts. The Vaccaro family demonstrates an unconditional love for their land, a love that looks to the future, with particular attention to sustainability issues, but which does not forget its history and traditions.
