A historic company owned by Piero Castellano, grandson and namesake of the founder of the winery, dating back to 1902. Ca'La Bionda is a dynamic winery in Valgatara di Marano, in the province of Verona, in the heart of Valpolicella, one of the most suitable wine-growing areas in Italy. The vineyards, which extend for 29 hectares, are located at a height between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, enjoy a very favorable exposure for the ripening of the grapes and rich and fertile soil for the vines. The vines present in the vineyard are the classic Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone, which give rise to the famous Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto wines. In the vineyard, painstaking and passionate work for Piero who has chosen zero environmental impact and therefore does not use herbicides or chemical fertilizers; he also restored all the dry stone walls to create the classic terraces of the area, which are very conducive to the best ripening of the grapes. The Ca'La Bionda winery is specially built on several floors, exploiting the force of gravity for winemaking techniques, thus avoiding the use of pumps and invasive machinery. The yeasts used are absolutely indigenous and no clarification, filtration and stabilization operations are carried out. The fundamental phase of drying takes place on Tavole Cannettate, without any artificial control of humidity and temperature: all according to the ancient peasant tradition of the region. The wine produced rests and ages in special oak barrels. These are some of the precautions put into practice by Piero Castellano to bring back the absolute naturalness of the work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. From this philosophy of life and work, the Amarone "Vigne di Ravazzol" and the "Riserva Ravazzo" are born, two truly prized pearls in the Valpolicella wine scene.
