Gruss

Gruss is one of the wineries that best represents Alsace wines. They are characterized by great structure and softness, so much so that they are considered the fruit of a unique terroir. The French region is dedicated exclusively to the breeding of white grapes. Gewürztraminer, Moscato Banco and Riesling are the most bred varieties with great enological success. The climate is quite mild and warm, thanks to the Vosges mountains which protect the rows from cold winds. The Gruss family has been resident in Alsace since the 1600s, so they have in-depth knowledge of this territory which is located in an optimal winemaking context. The Gruss winemaking adventure began in the 20th century, when Eugène decided to dedicate himself to the trade of winemaking products. Subsequently, however, his son Josef understood that to achieve greater success it was better to produce the typical wines of the region himself. This is how he planted the first vineyards and built the first cellar to produce and bottle wines with his name. The winery, located in the village of Eguisheim, has made itself well known on the world market for its particularly aromatic wines. The conversion to organic farming has allowed the removal of herbicides and chemical fertilizers. Biodiversity and the precious ecosystem are protected to the maximum by using organic comedians to maintain the perfect environmental balance. No harmful practices or forcing are carried out to increase the performance of the screws. For this reason, Gruss wines are characterized by typical, frank and clean scents in full respect of the nature of the vines. The wines are robust, soft and spicy thanks to the passage in oak barrels.
