Lago di Venere

The Lago di Venere winery is divided between Sciacca and the island of Pantelleria, in the heart of Sicily. On the land in the Sciacca area, thanks to the particularity of the microclimate and soil, there are the most representative vineyards of the region and various DOC wines are produced; in Pantelleria, in the locality of Scauri, the famous Zibibbo is made. The history of the company begins a long time ago, in the 1930s, thanks to the intuition of Ignazio Miceli, Commander of the Navy, who decided to distribute the wine only in the Palermo area, leaving aside transport elsewhere in bulk form, as had happened until until then. The passion for this work was also passed down to his son Salvatore and his nephew Ignazio who, however, in the sixties decided to undertake the production activity directly, purchasing land in an area already highly appreciated in the world for the quality of its grapes. Thanks to their dedication and commitment, the Lago di Venere company has reached excellent levels in wine production with high quality DOC products typical of Sicily.
