The Adanti winery was founded in the 1960s in the Montefalco area, in Umbria. Here an old farmhouse, now known as Villa Arquata, was purchased and renovated with the aim of creating excellent quality wine. To date, Adanti boasts a production of excellent wines, such as Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso. The majority of production is concentrated on black grapes, however white wines are also produced, albeit in smaller quantities. The composition of the soil is clayey, calcareous and sandy, depending on the area. The climate is cool and continental, typical of this area, and favors perfect development of the grapes, especially red grapes. The Adanti Winery in fact focuses on the native Sagrantino vine, from which the aforementioned Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG is born, but also its homonymous and rare Passito. In addition to this, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet and Barbera vines are grown. The white varieties of Grechetto and Chardonnay make Montefalco Grechetto DOC and Arquata Umbria IGT. It is important to underline that all the wines produced by this winery are truly the emblem of the same territory in which they are born: tradition and profound respect for nature are and remain the cornerstones of this company, the flagship of Umbrian viticulture.
