Bertani

The Bertani winery was founded in 1857 by the brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, in Quinto di Valpantena, north of Verona. Gaetano was already an expert in the art of winemaking then, having learned the new techniques in France from Professor Guyot, still considered one of the greatest experts in viticulture today. The beginning of the Bertani's activity coincides with the innovative spirit that pushes them to use the most advanced production techniques, both in the viticultural and oenological fields, applied to all the properties of the time, in Valpantena and Soave , always respecting the territory and the cultivation culture of the area.

In the mid-twentieth century, with the acquisition of Tenuta Novare , in Valpolicella Classica, Bertani concretized his half-century-long research to produce "Wine", the one that was born to last forever. It is here, in fact, that the history of Amarone begins , a symbolic wine of the territory from which it was born, whose first vintage dates back to 1958.

With more than 200 hectares of vineyards in the most suitable areas of the Veronese area, today Bertani is a solid company with a constant increase in distribution in Europe and around the world. There are two historic cellars, that of Grezzana, the current headquarters and beating heart of the company, where the winemaking, bottling and shipping activities take place, and Tenuta Novare in Arbizzano di Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, cradle of great reds such as Amarone and Valpolicella Classico Superiore.

An icon of Italian wine in the world, Bertani combines the typical nature of the native vines with the continuous updating of the production plants and the attention paid to the terroir.
