Château La Tour Blanche

This winery can boast a truly long, but above all very particular, history. With a production experience that had already begun four hundred years earlier, it was at the beginning of the last century, precisely in 1909, that the owner at the time, Daniel Iffla, made a truly radical decision. He chooses to leave his entire inheritance including the company to the State, with a particular clause: that it become a real school dedicated exclusively to the teaching of oenology. The corporate structure of this winery is therefore truly unusual: despite this, all the aspects that have always characterized the winemaking of native vines are rigorously respected, including Semillon, the white grape variety that is probably the most representative of this area. France, which is vinified together with Sauvignon and, sometimes, Muscadelle, to give rise to one of the best wines of French production. To date, this winery is mainly synonymous with a product of the highest quality: Sauternes, a molded passito wine, capable of reaching truly important quality levels, which allow this wine and this winery to be placed in the register of the best French producers.
