Castello di Verduno

The Castello di Verduno winery is located in the heart of the Langhe, the region of Piedmont most famous for the production of quality wines. The winery has an ancient history that dates back to medieval times, when the Verduno castle was an important wine production center for the local nobility and belonged to the Savoy family. In the 19th century, Castello di Verduno began to become one of the most important wineries in Piedmont, thanks to the commitment and passion in the production of Barolo. The winery expanded, investing in innovative production techniques to guarantee the quality of its wines. In the 20th century, the Burlotto family, who became owners of the Castle, continued the production tradition of the Savoy and today, the marriage between Gabriella Burlotto, owner of this historic castle, and Franco Bianco, producer of Barbaresco, led to the current structure of the winery continuing to grow, becoming a reference of excellence in the Langhe region. The winery is still committed to preserving the tradition of producing quality wines, but also to innovating and experimenting with new grape varieties and production techniques. Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco remain the priority grapes, but the production includes excellent native grapes such as Barbera, Dolcetto and an excellent Classic Method sparkling wine. The Castello di Verduno winery is also an important center of cultural activities, hosting events and activities that celebrate the history and tradition of Piedmont wine.
