Dominique Gruhier
Information
Region: France
Address: Rue du Clos de Quincy, 89700 Épineuil, France

Burgundy, the French land where wine finds the opportunity to best express its potential, is the loving cradle of the Dominique Gruhier winery. The terroir that hosts the Gruhier vineyards offers everything necessary for the ripening of quality grapes: rich clay soils, intense sun exposure and a culture for the art of wine that has its roots in a centuries-old winemaking tradition. A territory so suited to the production of excellent wines that since 1935 it has been awarded the prestigious AOC classification. The history of the Gruhier Estate is long and intense and began in 1200, when the Cistercian monks established their residence and began wine production in the evocative Quincy Abbey, located in the French valleys of Epineuil. Thus was born the Domain of Petit Quincy Abbey. Having passed into the hands of the Gruhier family in the 1990s, the domain still maintains intact its profile as a reality capable of producing French wines that can be loved by even the most demanding palates. Since 2010, committed to the application of organic cultivation techniques, and always respectful of the naturalness of the wine, processed in such a way as to suit its timing and characteristics, the winery manages large vineyards which are home to over 200,000 vines distributed between the territories of Chablis and Epineuil . The grapes produced border on perfection and express all the elegance of the native French qualities: rows of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir ripen under a generous sun while they feed on a land rich in mineral deposits and residues of marine origin. From whites to reds, passing through lively rosé versions, Gruhier wines boast specialties vinified in purity, such as the prestigious but democratic Bourgogne Epineuil Cuvée Juliette, the powerful Bourgogne Epineuil L'Ame des Dannots and the aromatic Chablis Premier Cru. They are accompanied by sparkling blends of great class and drinkability, in which Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are mixed, excellently represented by the Cremant de Bourgogne, both white and rosé.
