It is hypothesized that Lebanon is the oldest wine producer in the world, so much so that some biblical quotes describe vine plantations in that area. Furthermore, it is said that the Phoenicians began producing wine in this area around 5,000 years ago. It was in the heart of the Bekaa Valley, a region that is now the wine center of Lebanon, that the Roman Empire built the Temple of Bacchus, which still exists and can be visited. The Château Marsyas winery is known for its excellent wines, which have generated acclaim from critics who have praised the personality of these products. They are profound and unique wines, with a decidedly strong character. Château Marsyas is actually the name of a vineyard located right in the Beqaa Valley. The area of the estate is approximately 60 hectares, located in the villages of Kefraya and Tell Dnoub. The Saadé family also owns and operates a Syrian estate, known as Domaine de Bargylus. The company was founded in 2007 and a prestigious international consultant named Stéphane Derenoncourt works in the cellar. Its red wines are produced with typically Bordeaux-style blends such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot; while a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc is used for the production of white wine. Great elegance, structure, complexity for truly particular and fascinating wines.
